Regional Development Company Drechtsteden (ROM-D)

Drechtsteden Regional Development Company (ROM-D) is the Drechtsteden region’s development company. Its main task is to strengthen the regional economy of Drechtsteden.

 Its most important activities are:
  • Selling land
  • Developing new commercial property
  • Revitalising existing commercial property
  • Promoting the Drechtsteden region
  • Attracting companies
  • Facilitating established companies
The Drechtsteden Regional Development Company is a public-private partnership between the Drechtsteden municipalities , the Province of South Holland, BNG Regional Development and Rotterdam Development Company (OBR). Drechtsteden Regional Development Company pools expertise and offers its services as an enterprising partner for companies requiring site selection or advice about business locations. Promotion of Drechtsteden is aimed at redefining its image as an up and coming region.

The Drechtsteden are made up of the municipalities of Alblasserdam, Dordrecht, Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, Papendrecht, Sliedrecht and Zwijndrecht. The region accommodates a total of 59 industrial sites and business parks.

The Drechtsteden Regional Development Company facilitates the redevelopment of existing locations and the development of new ones. This results in a modern supply of industrial and office sites in the region, attractively located between the Netherlands’ major cities, Rotterdam and Breda.

In the coming years, the region aims to develop 110 hectares of industrial parks such as Dordtse Kil IV in Dordrecht and Langeweg-Zuidwende in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht. About 250 hectares of outdated locations like Groote Lindt in Zwijndrecht or Oosteind in Papendrecht will be revitalised. In the next two years work will start on the first series of parks.
